Vietnam Embassy & Consulate

As of this date, both the Vietnam Embassy and Consulate charge $50 per document for seal/authentication. You will need to send a money order or certified check with your documents to cover the costs of authentication fees.  Both the Embassy and Consulate offer one-week expedited services for an additional fee**. 

Regardless of which location you choose to send your documents, we suggest sending your documents through an express courier service such as:  Federal Express (FedEx), or US Express Mail or Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation or Certified Mail.  The courier services will charge a fee for their service.

**One-week expedited service is available at the Vietnam Embassy for an additional $20 per document.  (This is in addition to the regular fee of $50 per document- for a total of $70 per document).

Visa To Enter Vietnam

A citizen of the United States must obtain a visa to travel and be admitted to Vietnam.  Visa applications are available online.  Processing fee is $65 per application, which must be paid by postal money order.  The Embassy processes normal visa applications in about five (5) days.  You may submit your visa application to the Vietnam Embassy in Washington, D.C., when you accept your referral. 

The following items must be submitted with your completed application:
          

• Your original passport
  
• Postal money order for $65 per person (made payable to “Embassy of Vietnam”)
  
• Self-addressed pre-paid envelope (from one of the courier services listed below*)
  
• One (1) standard passport size photograph
  
• Cover letter detailing the items/documents you’ve included and your contact information should there be any questions.
