After securing the state seal on the required documents, you will need to send your documents to the appropriate Indian Consulate or Embassy for the Indian seal or authentication. Each document is sent to the Consulate or Embassy serving the state which put its seal on the document. We suggest sending your documents through an express service and to include a self-addressed return express service envelope.
Listed below are the Indian Consulates and Embassy with the states each Consular and Embassy serves.
As of now, it appears that different Consulates charge different amounts, usually
either $10 or $20 per document. Please check the website of the
Consulate you will send your documents to for the Seal of India.
You can check here for the website of the Indian Embassy, and from
there the link to the different Consulates around the U.S.
Note: No expedited service is available for documents mailed to the Consulate.
