After a slow start, our Brazil program is heading in a new direction. We recently began working with a new attorney in Espirito Santo, a different state of Brazil. Espirito Santo is located on the coast just north of Rio de Janeiro where we were initially working.

Currently, we have one dossier in Brazil being translated to submit to the state adoption authority, CEJA. We hope that by the writing of our next newsletter we will be well on our way to completing our first adoption in Brazil.

At this time, U.S. citizens are most likely only able to adopt children age 6 and older. The travel to Brazil requires just one trip of approximately 45 days.
