Report on Humanitarian Aidby Keith WallaceWe are pleased to report that in the calendar year 2003 FTIA participated in numerous humanitarian aid projects. In addition to the countless hours our team contributes in our local communities towards children´s activities and services, some of our China team spent many hours working on behalf of the Heartland Medical Express. In addition to our substantial international aid work, FTIA contributed financially to numerous domestic charities serving children in need in our communities. All monies donated to domestic children services were donated out of FTIA´s general funds. As always 100% of monies donated to FTIA for international aid to children went overseas. FTIA is pleased to report that $70,000 dollars were sent overseas for the benefit of children in several countries. Of this amount, approximately $37,000 dollars were monies received as donations and the remaining amount came out of FTIA´s general fund. It is our goal to dramatically increase our humanitarian aid projects over the next several years, and we have preliminary plans in the works. We are currently looking for families willing to commit for $50 a month for a year (or a lump sum payment of $600 dollars) to support our Hunan Foster Care Program. We are also looking for additional sponsors because we are preparing another foster care program in Chongqing. We are constantly working on developing additional projects in many other countries and ask you to consider donating to these projects. We can provide reports on projects, as well as a tax deductible receipt. Please know that we do not simply hand money over on these projects, but that we typically determine the need and have our representatives purchase the necessary items and oversee their delivery at the various orphanages. We are making this request for donations as a public request. For any of our FTIA families in the process of adopting, please know - as I am sure you do - donations are completely separate from your adoption. Donating monies will have no impact on your individual adoption. |
