Vietnam Program Update

I hope everyone has enjoyed their holiday season. Thank you for sharing photos and cards with us during the holidays – we hope you know how much we enjoy and appreciate hearing from you!

We continue to wait for news of the signing of the MOU (memorandum of understanding), now being referred to as the ´protocol´. It is our belief that an agreement will be completed between the US and Vietnam by the end of the 1st quarter this year. We are very anxious and excited about being able to move forward with the Vietnam program, as we know several families have very patiently waited for this time to come. We look forward to working with our prospective families waiting to submit applications, as well as those of our post placement families who have voiced an interest in adopting again from Vietnam. We are very pleased that two of our families brought their children home after traveling to Vietnam on their 2nd trips in October. We know their wait between trips was a very, very difficult time, and are so pleased to be able to announce their homecoming and share their children´s photos in the photo section of this newsletter.

We continue to work diligently for the other two families who continue to wait for their 2nd trips. Our hopes are that they will travel soon after TET (January 22), and our hearts are with them and the children during this very difficult time.

If you submitted your report directly to the facilitator, please verify that you forwarded a copy to us at FTIA for our records. You can send them to the attention of Susan Travis.
