Upcoming Kentucky Seminars

Families Thru International Adoption is partnering with Adoption and Home Study Specialists to present a seminar for prospective adoptive parents in Louisville on January 10, at Southeast Christian Church, 920 Blankenbaker Road. This Informational Seminar will be held at 10:00 a.m. and will be followed by a Waiting Families meeting at 1:00 p.m. First Steps Early Intervention Program will present information about their services for infants and toddlers with developmental delays to FTIA´s waiting families.

On February 1, an Adoption Fair will be held at the University of Louisville´s Shelby Campus. FTIA will be joined by several other adoption agencies to present information to the community about domestic and international adoption.

Kentucky adoptive families have been busy sharing holiday customs of many countries. Kentucky adoption support groups have recently sponsored several events.

Families with Children from China (FCC) enjoyed celebrating the Chinese New Year and is looking forward to their monthly dinner to be held on January 14. FCC sponsors a monthly dinner on the second Wednesday of every month.

Families for Russian and Ukrainian Adoptions (FRUA) celebrated the Russian Orthodox New Year with a traditional gift of Russian children, matroishkas, or, Russian dolls. FRUA´s Spring event is still to be announced.

Latin Family Connection (LFC) had their annual celebration of, "Three Kings Day", commonly observed throughout Latin America where it is also known as "Little Christmas". LFC is planning several upcoming events including their Cinco de Mayo celebration and Dia de los Muertos party, which is held in partnership with the Latin American Club of Louisville.
