Susan Travis, Education and Post Adoption Services Coordinator

I am pleased to be serving as Education and Post Adoption Services Coordinator for FTIA. Although this is a new position for me, I am not ´new´ to FTIA! My husband and I were blessed with a daughter we adopted from Russia through FTIA in April of 1999. More recently, I served as an adoption coordinator for families adopting from Russia, and before that, Vietnam.

In my new position, I am coordinating our efforts to provide informational seminars to prospective parents. In addition, I am coordinating FTIA’s educational opportunities to families in the adoption process, such as Pre-Adoption Workbooks and Waiting Family Programs. We currently are planning several enhancements to both of these services, and will be sharing more details soon!

Another area I am focusing on is our post adoption services. For those of you who have completed your adoptions, we know that your challenges and our opportunities to support you do not end with bringing your children home. Although we have several enhanced post-adoption services in progress, you are our best resource for how we can improve this service to you even more!
