Dear FTIA,
First let me apologize for not getting this to you sooner. I want to say: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I am sure that you are well aware of this, but you people make dreams come true.
When my husband and I learned 2 years ago that it wasn't likely that we would be having biological children, I never thought for a second that one day I would be grateful. Now, we can not imagine our lives with any child but Kiana.
We had the most wonderful trip that anyone could imagine. We will be forever grateful to Kiana and you for making that trip possible. The beauty of China is beyond belief. The people that we met were even more amazing. The people that live in China are wonderful. They came up to us and talked to us and thanked us repeatedly. We always corrected them when they said "lucky baby", we shook our heads "no" and said "no, lucky Mommy and Daddy". We wanted it quite clear that we were the lucky ones in this deal, we also wanted it quite clear that we would be forever grateful to China for allowing us to bring home their most precious commodity.
The group of people that we traveled with was also fantastic. Kate and Rowena are just wonderful. I had spoken to Kate several times on the phone, and was excited to learn that she would be traveling with us. She is more fantastic in person than on the phone.
She is the kindest, most patient, most professional women that I have ever met. Rowena was also extremely helpful and stayed with us right until we entered the last gate to get onto the plane to head to Hong Kong.
Kiana is thriving. She is all over in her walker and is giving our cat a run for her money (our toes too!!) She thrills people in the grocery store with her killer smile and her newly learned ability to wave at them. We have yet to wipe that "new parent grin" off our faces. When we went to bring our announcement into the local paper, they decided that this would be a nice story to do. Her Daddy has been calling her "superstar." We live in a very small town, and recently someone approached us and said "Oh she's so cute, so and so said that all she ever does is smile." I am happy to say that not only is she a happy baby, but we are ecstatic parents.
Again we would like to say Thank You and please continue to do the wonderful work that you do.
Richard, Lynn, and Kiana
